Cookson Hills School Water Project

We are very proud to announce a new project that will be bringing our water to the Cookson Hills School.  This is an alternative water source for them that will allow them to use personnel and resources that are being tied up maintaining an outdate distribution system and recently a well system that has become contaminated with Radon levels that will make future use undesirable.

We will be tying into our existing system near the Fire Hydrant by the Main Office pool.  The new line will run down the south side of the road leading to the main gate, where a vault will provide a point of delivery for them.  This vault will also be on the south side of the Flint Ridge’s Main Gate on Hwy 10.  Cookson will provide a service line from there by boring under the highway and running up the hill to their water tower, which is actually several yards lower than the water tower in Flint Ridge.  This will allow for a gravity fed system that will not require a pump station like the ones we needed to bring water to Kansas, Leach, & West Siloam Springs.

We look forward to this new relationship with a very worth while charitable organization.  This will be water sales not relied on in our initial planning when establishing the Water Authority, so it will be a nice addition to our family and help secure the future of South Delaware Regional Water Authority.

We hope to begin the actual digging phase of the project right around the first part of 2019.

New Water Treatment Plant & System Expansion

We recently began work on our system's new Water Treatment Plant and Expansion Project.

Most of you probably already know about the new plant being built below the Clear Lake Dam in Flint Ridge, but some of you may not know that this is just one part of the project.

There are three parts to this project, that will allow us to begin supplying water to West Siloam Springs, to the east of Flint Ridge, and water to the customers of our existing Authority Members (communities), that are to the north and west of Kansas,OK, so that they can expand their customer bases, as well.  With this project we will be able to offer good, clean, and fresh water to most of South Delaware County.

The first part of the project is the new plant I mentioned earlier, that will allow us to more than double our current capacity for water production and distribution.

We will be sending out Alerts to our subscribers on when various roads are closed, and traffic areas you may want to avoid, that are near this new Water Treatment Plant site.  Alerts about schedules for the concrete trucks and larger pre-fabricated parts, that will be coming and going to the Water Plant.

The pipe being laid along Hwy 410 E, toward West Siloam Springs, is another important part of this project. When this part is completed, a pump station located near Flint Ridge RV1 Park will push our water up Flint Creek hill to supply water to a growing West Siloam Springs and maybe someday, to communities and property owners to the South of West Siloam Springs.

The final part of this new project is the two new water towers that you may have noticed going up in the Leach & Rose areas.  These two towers will soon store water and help stabilize preasure to the system in those areas.

We will be keeping you posted as this project continues. This plant and the expansion phases are projected for completion in the late fall of 2018.
